about

I wrote this song for a friend of mine named Rick. He was such a great spirit and he always encouraged me. Today is his birthday and although he's not here living on Earth anymore, his spirit is resting easy in the arms of Jesus. I love you, Rick. Rest easy now.

lyrics

Rest easy my brother
We've got to love each other
We've got to hold on tight until the sun goes down
Rest easy my friend
Oh I remember when
Our voices would echo with the sound
Of stories of the lost and the found
Rest easy now

Rest easy my brother
Your daughter has a mother
And your family has your love they won't forget
Rest easy my friend
You won't hurt again
And your body will be laid in the ground
With the likes of the lost and the found
So rest easy now

On your way, down glory street
Don't you worry away about me
Cause I'm still here and you're alive
You're singing with the angel choir
So Rest easy, child

Rest easy my brother
We'll always love each other
We won't give up the fight until the sun goes down
Rest easy my friend
I'll always remember when
Our voices would echo with the sound
We'd share stories of the lost and the found
Sometimes I wish that you were still around
But you're perfect in glory town
So rest easy now

Rest easy now
